What Are Skills?

Think of skills as expert assistants for different types of prompts. When you select a skill, it applies domain-specific knowledge to improve your prompt:

Adds relevant technical details
Structures the prompt optimally
Uses terminology the target AI understands
Follows best practices for that domain

Auto-Detect Mode

By default, Prompt Assistant uses Auto-detect mode. It analyzes your input and automatically selects the most appropriate skill. For example:

Pro users can create their own custom skills for specialized use cases.

How to Create a Custom Skill

Click the "+ New Skill" button in the skill picker
Fill in the skill details:
- Name: Display name for the skill
- Slug: Unique identifier (lowercase, hyphens only)
- Description: Brief explanation of what it does
- Category: video, image, text, communication, social, code, or custom
Write the skill content in Markdown format
Save your skill
